A man who was knocked off his electric scooter by one driver, then struck by another driver in an April 30 crash in San Jose died of his injuries on Thursday, officials said.
The crash happened about 1:38 p.m. near the intersection of South 10th Street and Elizabeth Street, San Jose police said in a news release Monday.
An adult man was riding a Ninebot electric scooter on South 10th Street when he crashed into a Tesla Model Y turning left from Elizabeth Street onto South 10th. The car knocked the rider off the scooter and into the street, where a woman struck him as she drove a 2008 white Chevy Cobalt.

Authorities transported the scooter rider to a hospital with life-threatening injuries, where he was initially stabilized, according to the release. On May 2, the rider succumbed to the injuries inflicted in the accident and was pronounced deceased.
Both drivers remained at the scene and were cooperative with the investigation, authorities said.
The crash marks the 15th traffic death and 15th fatal collision of the year. The Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office will release the deceased’s identity after it is confirmed and his next of kin is notified.
